Thousand of volunteers will collaborate with the organising committee.
An important experience not to be missed.
The FIS Nordic Ski WM Val di Fiemme 2003
are not only an extraordinary sporting and promotional event but are
also a valuable experience for all the volunteers collaborating with
the organising committee. There will actually be thousands of collaborators
involved in the organisation and the
event will certainly represent an important moment of growth and professional
training, especially for the young. Besides the technical services at the
ski jumping stadium and cross-country skiing centre, there are many opportunities
of working at the secretariat, the press office, the information office
and as hostess and assistant to foreign athletes and journalists.
For many students and young people the
championships can be a first step into the job market and a way of
coming into contact with an international and exciting environment.
It cannot be forgotten that during the championships there will be
hundreds of journalists and TV operators coming from all over the
world and the opportunity of "living" such an event from
the inside is certainly a positive experience for the young of the
Val di
Fiemme. If you wish to collaborate you must simply contact the organising
committee and the people in charge of the different services will define
your tasks.
The number of volunteers needed for the championships is about 800. All
of them will have the official uniform and a free ticket for the competitions
for their family. This is a further incentive in order to "recruit"
the volunteers, even though the problem is probably not that of finding
a sufficient number of volunteers, but rather that of finding the right
person for each service.
In order to guarantee the efficiency of the volunteers, the organising committee
will soon organise an English course for beginners and advanced learners
that will be open to all volunteers, wishing to improve their knowledge
of the English language. The course will be held in the Val di Fiemme and
is completely free. The secretarial staff will have the opportunity of attending
to a computer science course, organised by the organising committee. This
is also a job-oriented opportunity of getting a professional training. The
world championships are therefore not only an occasion of growth for the
valley as a whole, but also for the people who will collaborate for the
success of the event.
